T1 Day 46 (Keelin)
Day 46: 7/22/2023
I seem to be having the pleasure of writing about all of our rest days recently and I’m not complaining! Today we spent the day at the beautiful Torch Lake with Liz’s family. It was so incredible to be met with such hospitality once again. We woke up somewhere around 9 and leisurely rolled out of bed to congregate in the living room. The only “errand” we didn’t get the chance to do yesterday was route plan. We put our brains together for a few minutes and before long we had our next 5 days sorted out! We wandered into the kitchen and found the most heavenly cinnamon streusel bread imaginable (from costco apparently). Around 11 am Liz’s aunt and uncle came into the cabin we were staying in and we all got ready to go for a nice paddle on one of the nearby lakes. It was so nice to be on the water and using some different muscles for a change. As I was in the kayak paddling around I kept think how grateful I was to be spending our rest day here! After paddling we had lunch and went to another family members cottage to swim in the lake and lounge around- I was able to find some time to read my book which I was very happy about. The lounging on the dock was followed by an incredible whitefish dinner and a trip to the ice cream place in town. At that point we were exhausted (as we usually are) and headed back to our cabin to get our things together for the morning. Overall, I think it was one of the best rest days we have had !!!!
