Team 1 Day 4 (Keelin)

You know, I knew there were going to be rainy days where I wasn’t going to want to bike and I knew the cascade mountains were going to be hard…. I just crossed my fingers that both of those things didn’t happen at the same time. I guess crossing your fingers means nothing these days!!! Another rainy day- 2 in a row now. Rain has been a little unpleasant we won’t lie to you, but our spirits stayed much higher today!!! We did check the weather app numerous times since we had service and it said overcast and cloudy- but no rain. That was simply not the case! Not only did we stop in Twisp, WA at the Cinnamon Twisp Bakery hoping to get some of their famous “Cinnamon Twisps” and they were sold out, but we then turned around to go back outside with our cookies and tea (conciliation bakery finds) it was pouring rain. We waited it out for a while, layered up, then headed for Loup Loup Pass. Raining a bit at the top, but the best part of the whole day was the descent into Omak. The clouds cleared and we were able to see the amazing apple trees and the stunning scenery. Liz does claim she saw a zebra on the ascent (or some striped looked goat) Kayla and I both have our heads to the ground in front of us for the most part on the climbs (i’m working on that) so not sure if there’s anyone who can corroborate her story. We have met another northern tier biker and he says he has a photo of said zebra…. i’ll believe it when I see it. That’s all for now!
